The first part of our week won’t be too exciting, but the latter part of the week ought to be fantastic! We are so looking forward to spending time with Carter and Lori, along with her parents, for several days in Florida! It’s been so long since we have gotten to spend any warm days on a sandy beach, that we’re gonna just blend in with the white sand! That’s OK ’cause I’m not there to impress anyone, but to just enjoy the beauty of family and the beach. Therefore, I will be counting the days until we head that way on Friday…won’t get to the beach until Saturday after 4 p.m. since that’s the check-in time. We will, most likely, spend Friday night in Athens, AL. and we’re hoping to see Chipper and Jerry that evening…not sure that will work out but we’re going to try.
The last few days have really had the feel of FALL wanting to replace the heat, humidity, and longer days of summer. Believe me, it’s a pleasant relief from the heat and humidity of the last several weeks but I don’t like the days getting shorter ’cause that means winter will be here next! Oh well, such is life!
Yesterday we went to the UK and UofL football game and it was perfect weather…the week before it was terrible HOT. It was even a perfect game since UofL beat UK in a very big way! Made this girl very happy but made my date a little sad. George once was a UofL fan but his loyalty shifted once we moved here…I’ve remained true “red” all the way.  Now when it comes to basketball season, it may be a different story or at least a tighter game. Both schools have great basketball teams but UofL may be just a tad better! It is fun to go to the football games but once it gets cold we’ll see if I remain as excited about going. I sure don’t like COLD! As for basketball…we’ll never be able to afford, or obtain tickets, so the TV will be our source of entertainment.
This past week…my brother, Lorin, who happens to be OLDER than me (ha-ha), had some sort of spell where he passed out at church. He’s had numerous test…all have come back normal, thankfully, so they will continue to test for maybe some sort of heart issue. We also learned this past week, that our next door neighbor has cancer and will be under going treatment in Louisville soon. She’s a very private single lady, one of Blake’s teachers at his middle school, but a strong believer. We hope to be able to step in and help her in whatever way she’ll need help…drive her to Louisville, clean her house, mow her yard, etc., etc. and for once, she seems very receptive to our offer of wanting to help her, which is most unusual. Therefore, I would ask you all to be praying for Lorin..what’s the problem and how to fix it…and for Trisha…that the treatment will be successful and she’ll be willing to accept help when needed. I definitely believe in the power of prayer and the more praying the better.
We have guest coming to the “blue house” on Friday…we won’t be around to meet them when they arrive since they are driving in from Georgia…but we’ll leave the house ready and the key will be in the box! I do hate not getting to greet guest when they arrive but the call of the beach is so much stronger that I’m feeling no guilt or shame. Surely that’s not a bad thing, is it?
Have a good week and may you all be blessed with good health and the knowledge of knowing you are loved by God every day! Love to all.
Blessings……..
