Today is Lori’s birthday…Carter’s wife…and we couldn’t be happier to be able to wish her a very happy, happy birthday. Lori has been a real blessing to Carter and we are blessed to have her as a part of this “crazy” family. May this year be a good one with much happiness, health, and new beginnings…whatever that may be! Love you, Lori, and we’re still telling all that will listen how much fun we had at the beach!
We went to Louisville last evening to witness the wedding of Zack and Jenna. It was a beautiful event but we traveled in heavy rain both going to Louisville and then coming back home…in fact, that area got almost 6 inches of rain yesterday with more coming today. Melissa and her family are camping up in Indiana and I pray they are dry and won’t have any trouble getting back home. At the wedding…my dearest friend, Frances (grandmother of the bride) is suffering from alheimers (sp?) and for the first time that was obvious…she did NOT know me. I do believe she had some very brief recognitions of who I was but that was about all. It made me so sad but I will continue to love her and call her my ” bestest” friend for life!
I talked with my mom yesterday and she said dad is doing well but still seems very weak…what 94 year old doesn’t seem weak? I know he’s to walk the halls each day for at least 5 minutes and working up to 20 minutes, but that will take some time, I’m sure. I’m still amazed as to how well they both are and pray all their remaining years will be good ones.
Almost time to leave for church. Again…Happiest of birthday’s to Lori…keep getting stronger, Dad….and may we all have a fantastic week serving God by serving others. Love to all!
