It’s hard to believe that October is half over and fall has really begun to settle in. Â Our days continue to be in the mid 70’s with the cool nights of the 40’s but that will soon change if the weatherman is right…are they ever really right? Â Regardless, it’s a beautiful season in central Kentucky with the changing colors of the trees, the squirrels frantically gathering nuts and burying them in some of my flower pots…UGH!. Â Of course, there’s always a down side to this…raking and bagging leaves and black walnuts! Â We don’t like black walnuts and the trees at the “blue house” are loaded and when they fall on the roof it sounds like a bomb has hit. Â So far no guest have complained…nothing we can do about it anyway!
We had a good weekend and got to go to one of our neighbors cookout Friday night and that was fun…got to meet lots more Wilmore folks. Â Then on Saturday night, we attended the “lack luster” UK / Alabama game. Â No surprises there…UK got spanked once more. Â Oh well, such is the life of the UK football program. Â We did have fun and we loved visiting with the people around us. Â Daniel and his boys also went but had seats elsewhere. Â It was perfect weather for the game and we enjoyed an absolutely beautiful sunset. Â God was showing us His handiwork in a most beautiful way.
The kids here are on their fall break…they need a break after two months of school?…so we are tagging along with the Crockett’s to go to the movies later this morning. Â It’s been ages since we’ve been to see a movie so that will be good. Â We’ll have to clean the “blue house” this afternoon since we have more folks coming in tomorrow so our day will be full. Â Sometime during the afternoon, I plan to get my exercise in…hopefully before dark…and that should be a wrap. Â Oh ya, gotta throw in dinner but that may be a rather simple task. Â What to have, what to have? Â Soup and sandwiches sound like a winner to me!
Guess that’s about all I know for now. Â Our neighbor, Trish, seems to be on the mend and will start her radiation in a few week…will be 5 treatments…then do her round of chemo. Â She’s very optimistic and knows she is winning this battle. Â She has a great faith and trust in God so that’s a good, positive thing. Â She’s loved my cooking and that was good to hear. Â When I reminded her it was all gluten free, she was amazed and said she couldn’t even tell. Â Another good thing! Â Dad continues to get some stronger and is now walking the required time the cardiologist requested but still seems to wear out quickly. Â That’s nothing new…SO DO I!!! Â I think it has to do with aging. Â Or is it just the “Golden Years” in for another laugh? Â Regardless, we’re all able to get out of bed each morning, eventually get the body to move, and start another new day! Â Sometime, I stand up and the body says “where you think you’re going?” before it gives in and lets me go. Â Aging?
Have a good day and I love you all!
Blessings…..
