Some family news…

Yesterday we went to Louisville to watch Kyle and Tyler play in their final “fall ball” baseball game.  The boys both did well and they won 6-1 against their rivals, Southern High School… so it made for a great evening.  It was  a very pleasant evening, with a beautiful sunset, but it was getting towards the “cool” side by the time the game was over…better than sweating bullets like we have in the past, I guess.  Congratulations to them both on a great season and in just a few weeks they will start the conditioning for the spring season.  Baseball is almost a year around sport for the kids today.

We spent the night in Louisville so we could be with Melissa before she had her gall bladder removed this morning.  Going to a surgery center is a “hurry up and wait” situation…she had to be there at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:30 – 10 a.m. surgery with finally took place at noon.  She did real well and was home by 4 p.m.  Please keep her in your prayers as the next couple of days will require her to rest…a foreign word to her.  Byron is off the rest of this week and all of next week, so she will have help with the household stuff.  Her big thing will be to stay off the phone and not do her job…she currently has 10, or more, houses listed so her business is booming.

Tomorrow, Friday morning, Kyle is being inducted into the Beta Club which is quite an honor.  He’s an all “A” student and has a desire to become a pediatrician…which is a perfect career for him…and we are so very proud of him.  Congratulations, Kyle!!!

Our weather has really turned the temperatures down!  In fact, our high today was in the mid 50’s and the low 40’s for tonight.  The trees are turning fast, along with the leaves dropping even faster…along with those dreaded black walnuts…so winter is going to be here way to soon.  Must be time for us to head to Florida…actually we are hoping to spend the month of January there!

Guess I’ll get off of here and eat my last slice of “Maple Nut Pie” and it is so yummy…even with the gluten free crust!  Love that recipe I got years ago from my sweet mother.  Guaranteed to keep you happy and smiling!  Have a good weekend and thanks in advance for praying for Melissa.  Love to all…

Blessings…..
