Winter already?…

We pretty much just skipped over FALL and went directly to winter.  As far as I’m concerned…that’s a real bummer!!!  Last night we had a hard freeze…there goes all the flowers I worked so hard all summer to keep alive…with our low being in the high 20’s.  Yes, that’s right the high 20’s!  We are not expecting to get out of the 30’s today so winter is truly showing it’s UGLY face….even had a few snow flurries yesterday afternoon.  Oh well…spring will be back in just  5-6 months!

This has been a rather different week for me.  This past Sunday afternoon, I went for my usual walk…still trying to get back in some sort of shape besides “round”…and I stepped in a hole and down I went.  I can’t remember the last time I fell and I pray I won’t do it ever again.  I managed to wobble home and immediately put ice on my right ankle as it was beginning to swell and become colorful.  Later that evening, I was at the ER checking to see it I broke something…thankfully I did not…and I will be wearing a boot for the next four weeks…it matching nothing I normally wear!  I am doing well and will continue icing the ankle every other 30 minutes and wearing the boot while I’m up and about.  MOTHER…I am fine and can continue to do all the things I normally do but just slower because my shoes don’t match.

We have finally made reservations to go to Florida for the month of January and we are looking forward to enjoying the beach and sunshine.  Let’s just pray this year will be warm and not another “unusually cold” spell for that area like it was when we were last there four years ago.  Regardless, we will enjoy the time there with friends, etc.

Time to get some clothes out of the dryer so guess I’ll get back to my Suzy homemaker stuff.  We’ll be headed to Kroger’s and Sam’s in a little bit as we’re having our life group here on Sunday night and I’m needing some stuff to make a couple of different soups to serve them…a good winter meal.

Have a good weekend and we’ll do the same.  It appears that Halloween will be a cold one this year which is always a bummer since our little city has all the “trick & treat” activities downtown and the costumes just aren’t as cute with a coat over them.  Love to all.

Blessing….
