We had a good travel day yesterday and got here right on time. We took the folks to a good steak house for Dad’s birthday dinner once we got away from the airport. Believe me…these Texas steaks are good! The waiters even sang happy birthday to dad and presented him with a dish of apple cobbler with ice cream. We finally got to the house around 9:15 and my brother Lorin came over for a while. About 11:30 (12:30 by our body clock) I told him good night and he could stay as long as he wanted but I was going to bed…I was bushed! He left! Funny how that happens!
It’s a beautiful day today with a lot of sunshine and a gentle Texas breeze.  I got my walk in while George ran and we’re now trying to decide what to do. We’ll eat a late lunch/early dinner out some where, I hope to go see Bonnie and Phyllis for a few minutes, and then we’ll head home for some games of 42. Life is rough when there’s no one around but OLD people. We do enjoy the change of pace, however. While here I plan on making a trip to Wal-Mart to get mother some honey beer so she can make some of that delicious beer bread…she hasn’t been able to find that particular type of beer and I don’t know if any type would work just as well. I know nothing about what makes any beer different from any other. Oh well, it’s an excuse to get to go to “Wal-Mart” because a trip like that is suppose to make your life better! Some folks just haven’t experienced much, I guess!
Enjoy your weekend.
Blessings……
