We arrived in “beautiful” Abilene yesterday afternoon with lots of sunshine but cool temperatures. Â This morning we woke up to a balmy 26 with a high of only 47…but warmer than home and without any snow.
Mom and dad are both dealing with the challenges of aging. Â Mother is very, very sore from her fall and all movement is beyond painful. Â She thinks the broken ribs may be some better but the shoulder is not. Â Dad is doing well with his PT…in fact today was the last day for the home visit…and he is to continue doing the exercises on his own for a long time. Â The therapist said he was walking well and the exercises will help him to keep his strength up, so let’s hope he will continue doing them 1-2 times each day as he’s been instructed.
We don’t have plans for our time here, other than visit, and I’m so thankful we are here. Â We will be here until Saturday morning so the days are limited. Â We won’t be going out for Thanksgiving dinner because it’s just to hard for mother to get in/out of a chair and will be nearly impossible to get in our car…sits so low…much less out of it. Â All this pain is really putting a lot of stress on her breathing issues, too. Â Please pray for them both and that comfort will soon be found.
Thankfully, we missed all the ice/snow that was going across the country on our way here. Â We did have rain, saw some ice in tree tops, but the roads were OK and we made our way here just fine. Â Certainly an answer to our prayers!
Not much more news. Â Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Â Happy Marriage today to Jerry and Margaret and may God bless you with many years of happiness as you continue serving The Lord together. Â Stay warm, know you are loved, and let’s all be thankful for what we have. Â Love to you all.
Blessings………
