We are currently in Florence, AL to say good-bye to George’s last aunt, Imogene Page. Â We went to visitation last night and for 3 + hours straight the family greated visitors. Â Imogene lived her entire 87 years in Rogersville, so she will certainly be missed by this small Alabama town…along with the family and many friends. Â She will always be known for her amazing caramel cake and I do believe she had fed most everyone that visited last night. Â Rest sweet Imogene and enjoy your reward.
Today my mother is to be transferred to a Rehab facility to help her gain some of her strength back so they can, hopefully, go back home. Â Dad will also be at the same place, but in the nursing home section, so he’ll get his medication and, hopefully, his required exercises for his legs. Â Thankfully, they won’t have to be seperated because the plans are for them to be able to share a room. Â None of this is ideal, but it’s all necessary to enable them to regain some of their quality of life back. Â Mom has really suffered since she fell and a lot more damage was done, apparently, that was first expected.
We will return home tonight…only a 6 hour ride…and we should be there for awhile.  That is, unless we need to go back to Texas to help  out there.  We still have plans to go to Florida for the month of January and we’re really looking forward to that.
Today is a very special day for our son, Clark, as he celebrates his 50th birthday. Â Clark has always been a loving, caring guy and a joy to all of us. Â Happy birthday sweet Clark! Â Also, we celebrate my OLDEST brother’s birthday today…he’s turning….! Â Can’t tell you ’cause you’d know how old I really am. Â Regardless, Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday to these two very special guys and I love them both.
Got to go get myself together for this day. Â Pray for our safety as we travel home with the ice storm pushing in behind us, the Page family, and for Mom and Dad. Â I constantly feel the presence of God in helping me accept some of these difficult issues concerning aging, death, but in the joy of living. Â Again, happy birthday to the birthday boys. Â Love to all!
