We arrived back home last night after a whirlwind trip to Alabama. Â We went there to celebrate the life of Imogene Page and she was celebrated in a big way. Â At the viewing on Tuesday night, the family greeted guest for over 3 hours…nonstop…and then at her funeral yesterday, the church was packed and many great memories were shared by many that attended. Â The funeral lasted for 1 1/2 hours! Â We enjoyed catching up with some family members that we haven’t seen in years…isn’t that always the way it goes at a wedding or a funeral? Â Carter and Lori also attended so it was really good getting to see them for a little while. Â We got to spend time with Chipper and Margie as they opened their home to us, for which we were thankful. Â Also, a Louisville friend, Darryl Davis, came and that was really special to Jerry. Â All in all, it was a great celebration but I am so glad to be home!
It is unusually warm, with a lot of rain, today but this is going to be short lived. Â The big ice, cold, snowy storm is expected here by tomorrow night which ought to make for a exciting weekend of being at home. Â After all the travel we’ve done lately, that’s really not bad…unless I don’t get to the grocery store.
My mom is still in the hospital and it has been determined that she broke her back when she fell and they are still trying to come up with a plan to help her with the extreme pain she’s having. Â Dad will be moved to a nursing home today which will be a real challenge for him. Â Please pray for them!!! Â This breaks my heart…I’ve cried buckets of tears…but nothing has been determined as to best help mother because of her age and current health issues with her heart. Â All I can pray for is that The Lord with take them home and they will once again be at peace and free of all pain…physical and emotional. Â I love them both so deeply and being a 1000 miles away at times like this is so hard.
Got to get busy getting caught up here along with doing some dreaded grocery shopping. Â Love to all!
Blessings…….
