We had a great time at the derby party given by our friends Gene and Mary Cash. There were 60+ people there so it was a great time of reacquainting and catching up. The food was more than plentiful and  we all went away full, the race was exciting…although the filly having to be put down put a damper on the ending…and we look forward to doing it again next year. We have done this for several years and we don’t plan on it being discontinued. I made a serious boo-boo by leaving my purse behind. Hopefully, I’ll retrieve it before we head for Memphis on Thursday. Otherwise, we’ll be going to Louisville on our way to Memphis. Oh the mind is a terrible thing to loose!
Yesterday was a good day and the sun was shining and the wind had finally settled down. Saturday was a rainy, windy morning and by afternoon it was just very windy and cloudy…glad to have a full day of sunshine. The temperature is still a little on the chilly side at times but it’s improving.
All three of the Crockett boys played ball yesterday. Jerod and Blake had a good game with Blake being the one to hit in the winning run. He’s had trouble with the bat lately but he came through at just the right time. He hit a beautiful ball out to center field driving in the run…last inning, two outs, two strikes and then the crack of the bat for the run. Now that’s pure joy for a young guy named Blake Daniel Crockett! Jerod is proving himself to be quite a good first baseman so both had a good game yesterday. Grayson is by far the best player on his team…he understands the game and has difficulty trying to help his team to pay attention and stop playing in the dirt, etc. One time he threw the ball to the catcher for an out and hit the catcher in the helmet while he waved to his mom in the stands! Now that’s frustrating! George seems to be enjoying his time with the kids as a “coach” therefore, we make all the games.Â
There many chores for me to be doing so guess I better get busy. Enjoy the day and look for how many ways God reveals himself to you. It’s amazing!!!
Blessings…..Â
