We’ll be leaving for Scott and Allison’s in the morning for a few days of fun with them. We’re suppose to go fishing at Reel Foot Lake on Friday…let’s hope we catch some even though I don’t want to clean or cook them…just catching them is fun. It’ll be a fun day just being in the boat on the lake…hope it’s warm! I’m not sure what the plans are for Saturday but on Sunday we will be with Allison’s family for a Mother’s Day brunch at one of the restaurants in Memphis…then we’ll head for home. It’ll be a quick week-end visit but with their work schedules that’s about all the time they have available and we’re thankful for that much.
I retrieved my purse today thanks to Melissa. She met me in Frankfort and surprised me by bringing one of my “elderly” friends with her. Margaret has supplied us with many jars of strawberry jam that she makes and okra from their garden for years…which we all have enjoyed. She’s had some health issues the last year or so, but is doing well for now. Her husband is now in a nursing home which has been hard on her…we never like to face that avenue of life. So it was a real special treat for her to be able to come with Melissa today. She thinks Melissa is the greatest thing since sliced bread! There’s a reason…Melissa has always been very thoughtful and considerate of her. Thanks Melissa!!!
Have a wonderful Mother’s Day…all you that read this blog…and know that you have, or are still doing, the greatest, most difficult job ever given anyone. It’s was the best job ever for me and one I’m proud to have experienced with my many children. Thanks Carter, Clark, Scott, Melissa, and Tanya…you’re the best any mother could ever want.
Blessings………
