Merry Christmas…

Merry Christmas to all!  This year Christmas isn’t much more than another day on the calendar but I know it’s an important day to most all of our family and friends.  We will be going over to the Crockett’s afterwhile to watch them open their gifts and enjoy breakfast.  Then later in the day we are all going to the movies and I’m looking forward to that.  Tomorrow we are going to Louisville to spend the day with the Gabehart’s and see what all Santa brought to them, eat a good dinner together, and then we’ll head back home that evening.  All the other grandkids in Louisville have gone out of town so we’ll catch up with them another time.

George made me a beautiful, large salad bowl for Christmas and I LOVE IT!  I have been asking him to make me one for a while and now he has.  He’s really gotten good at turning wood and made several other beautiful bowls, plates, etc. while I was in Texas…definitely  could sell them as they are very pretty.  George got his gift early…a new computer…so he had nothing to open this morning, which was a bummer!  We are also having our  kitchen redone while we are in Florida, which will be a BIG gift to us both.  That is, if we get out and select the counter tops, sink, faucet, back splash, and flooring before we leave town.  That will be so nice to come home to, for sure, since we’ve talked about doing that for the last six years we’ve lived in this house.

Mom did get to go back to the nurshing home/rehab center yesterday and she was happy to be back with dad…he was thrilled to have her back…and she is working hard with the PT person to be able to get out of bed by herself, etc. so she can definitely go home.  Dad fell that morning and had to have help to get up but nothing was broken, as far as I know, and his blood sugar was way out of wack.  They are both struggling and it literally breaks my heart to see them have to go through this thing called “advanced aging”.  They are both ready to meet The Lord but neither one wants to go until the other has gone so they can take care of them…when one goes the other won’t be far behind and I praise God for that, as sad as it is, I will rejoice that this time of “advanced aging” is over!

Guess that’s about it for now.  Have a very Merry Christmas, enjoy celebrating with friends and family…not about the material gifts but the spiritual gift…, and please continue to pray for my parents and all others that are struggling with health issues.  Love to you all.

Blessings.
