Week one has come and gone….

Our time here in Venice is going by quickly and we have only been able to soak up some sunshine one day!  We continue to have very windy days, along with cooler than normal temperatures, so the beach wouldn’t be a lot of fun.  We are expecting to get another chance this weekend, but we’ll see.  Regardless, it’s so much nicer here than at home so I will be “glad and rejoice in it”.

We have been walking our 2-3 miles each day and that’s been good…we won’t do this at home in the cold, I feel sure…so we do manage to get outside every day.  We went over to Ron and Jean’s on Tuesday night to play cards and that was a lot of fun.  They are so sweet and fun to be with!  George is hoping to go fishing at some point, but the weather is still a factor with that.  It’d be kind of hard to throw a line in the wind ’cause you may only be catching your own shirt!  Also, George is going to learn how to play “Pickle Ball” next week with Ron…I won’t attempt it with my shoulders and ankle…but we hear it’s a fun game.  A cross between tennis, racket ball, and ping pong.  We’ll see and I’ll express my thought on it a little later.

I know that Linda and Jim are getting into high gear getting ready to go to Vienna for the next several months.  It’s a great opportunity for them…and the students…but a lot of work for Jim in getting ready to teach the students in a totally different environment.  I’ll look forward to hearing all about it next summer when they return home.

Not sure if I mentioned how much we enjoyed the movie “Saving Mr. Banks” but we would recommend it to everyone.  It was  excellent!

Guess that’s about all I know for now.  All our “sickies” continue to improve, as far as we’re being told, and all have managed to stay safe and warm during these last few freezing days.  I heard yesterday that our feral cat managed to stay alive during all those sub-zero days/nights…I’d hate for her to have frozen to death, but not much you can do with a feral cat.  Enjoy your day and we’ll do the same.  Love to you all!

Blessings…..
