Back from the graduation

We had a fun time in Nashville this weekend and we’re now back home in Wilmore.  We got to Linda and Jim’s on Friday evening and headed for dinner shortly after our arrival…ate at the Green Hills Grill and it was a good choice.  Saturday Linda had a really nice brunch that included Lawrence, Linda, Buddy, Carter, Lori, Chase, Jimbo, Danna, Zane, Emma, George and I and, of course, Jim and Linda. ..Chance was with his girlfriend who’s grandmother had died that night.  She had a lot of delicious assortment of salads, shrimp, fruit, etc.  After everyone left for their individual homes, the four of us went to the old post office that’s been changed into a art museum…that was fun and we saw some really neat painting, etc.  When we left there we went to a Greek restaurant for a light dinner…again a very good choice…before Zane and Emma came for the night…Jim and Danna were going to the symphony.  They were really good and a pleasure to have there.

On Sunday we went to church then came back to the house for lunch before George and I headed to Chance’s graduation.  That was a very nice ceremony and one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending.  Then back to the house and wait for time for the graduation party.  We had an enjoyable time there and Leslie went all out to make it a very special occasion…lots of people there!  Then about 7:30 p.m. the four of us met Carter and Lori at the Sportsman Grill/Lodge for another dinner…seems we did a lot of eating!  Both the boys, Chance’s girlfriend and her friend, called and wanted to join us so that was a very pleasant surprise and time of being together.  They are really good young men and we would love to have the opportunity to spend more time with them.  Chance is going to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY while Chase will return to Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, KY to begin his senior year this fall.

We got word Sunday morning that Scott and Allison we not going to make it since her grandmother had a stroke Saturday night…she’s been in declining health for some time.  Allison ,along with others from her family, headed for Dyersburg and were still there this morning.  Please keep that family in your prayers as they have now called in hospice.

It’s now Monday morning so the four of us headed to the Pancake Pantry for breakfast…eating again and another good choice…then we headed for home after a nice visit and all good’byes said.  It took us about 3 1/2 hours, maybe a little less, so it’s not a bad trip.

Thanks again Linda and Jim for your hospitality and we’ll see you again before too long, I hope.  Oh ya, I almost forgot to tell you, that Linda didn’t fix us breakfast any morning we were there.  Not sure why she wanted everyone to know this but you’ve been told.  Kidding…she’s a wonderful hostess and we had lots of great stuff to eat as I’m sure the scales will reveal in the morning.

Hope your Memorial Day has been a good one and you took some time to thank our service men/women for helping us remain free.

Blessings……
