What a crazy idea to come home from Florida! Â Since we’ve been home…since last Friday night…we have seen the sun for one day ONLY. Â This past Saturday it was absolutely georgeous! Â On Sunday it was raining all day so it could turn into icy grounds/street and then topped with about 5 +/- inches of snow. Â Monday was cold and here it is Tuesday with a BIG ice storm headed our way! Â This has been a winter like none we’ve had for many years. Â Come on spring! Â Everyone is so over these wintery days.
We have been very busy since we got home so guess it’s good we’re staying inside.  Our kitchen was not completed as we were told it would be…SURPRISE!…but we have managed to paint the pantry and get all our stuff back in there, painted the trim in the kitchen yesterday, and will do the ceiling today, along with touch up on the walls.  The challenge of cooking with a slow cooker, toaster over, microwave, and griddle has been educational.  I’ve never used a slow cooker so wasn’t sure just what to expect but the beef stew was good.  The worse part is washing the dishes in the bathroom sink as we are currently without  water along with having no sink/dishwasher.  Our contractor said we should be back to normal in 2-3 weeks…does that really mean months?  It will be so nice once it’s done so I’m being as laid back about all the mess as I can.  It helps just having the pantry stuff put away.  The house doesn’t look as bad as it did, so, all is well with the Ezell’s.
From what we hear, dad is doing well at his new home and for that I am very thankful. Â I have been told it’s a very nice facility and much improved over the Oaks. Â He got good care for the most part at the Oaks, but it just wasn’t home. Â It was a nursing home! Â He’s still adjusting to being alone and I know he grieves daily. Â Lorin and Patsy have gone through all their stuff at UP and have it ready to sell, or store, and I know they will be glad when all that is over and done with. Â I’d have gone back to help them, but they did it while we were headed back from Florida, so I know they are tired with having just a few hands doing all that work.
Got to get busy painting so it will be done before the guys come to reset the stove and refrigerator…George is currently doing the ceiling and I’ll do the trim work. Â Have a good week, continue to pray for daddy, Linda and Jim in Vienna, and for Spring to hurry up and come back. Â Love to you all!
Blessings……
