We have had a very busy day cleaning up our back yard from numerous branches that were blown down last night during a rather strong storm that came through around midnight. One limb was really large, and why it fell behind the carriage house and not on the carriage house is a mystery! I’m so thankful that there was no damage to our house, vehicles, or the carriage house since George has worked so hard getting everything fixed up. Our canopy for the cover on the deck was blown out of the frame…has metal bars in both ends so that was quite a trick…up on the roof but it wasn’t damaged. We knew it was gone when we looked out during the storm and thought it might be in the neighbors yard…never occurred to us it would be on the roof. We worked most of the day, and still have one large limb from a neighbors tree still needing to be removed, before we will have it completely cleaned. George filled the bed of his truck up twice…and I mean filled it up to the point I wasn’t sure he wouldn’t get pulled over or run someone coming the opposite direction off the road. The fence on both sides of the yard got damaged but that’s on the list of things to be replaced, so that’s not a big deal. We hope in time to have the fence replaced with a privacy fence…not the picked fence that I painted this spring, but all the other that goes across the back and on the back sides. This home will have a constant “to-do” list so we should never be bored but I’m thankful for it and we still enjoy doing what we’re doing.
We brought Tyler home with us when we came back from our anniversary time in Louisville. He’s a sweet little boy and a pleasure to have around. He’s so much like our Scott was as a little boy! Brings back happy memories…at least for most of it!
We had a great time celebrating our anniversary. We got up early on Sunday morning and headed to Louisville. We got there in time for church and it was so good seeing all our friends we have known for many years. We worshiped with that group of people for 43 years so we have lots of fond memories. After church we went to lunch with some of our special friends, Frances and Lovell…they even bought our lunch…and Bob and Carla. These have been traveling buddies for years and we really have some tales! We’ll be working at camp with them in July so that will be fun. After lunch we went to visit some other friends and that was a very good timel. Adam and Emily, along with their children, are very special to us and we enjoy hearing about their spiritual journey and playing with the children. They are an amazing family!
After we finished our visiting with friends, we headed to a really neat hotel, the 21 C Museum Hotel…it’s top notch and since it is connect with the museum , there was a lot of unique art everywhere. I didn’t even know it was there but thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We went to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner…The Bristol Bar and Grill…and we had some of our favorite items that they don’t have here in Wilmore, or any other place that we know about. A very YUMMY dinner!
George is an amazing husband and has blessed my life more than I deserve for all these many years. He’s never given me reason to doubt his love, faithfulness, or commitment. Thanks, George, for loving me and even more for loving our Lord like you do.
Tomorrow is Daniel’s birthday so we’re going over there for birthday dessert in a little while. Since the team that George and Daniel help coach are in tournament play, they have a game tomorrow night so no time for birthday celebration, I guess. The Rangers just may win the championship again this year…they should if they continue to play as good as they did last night…so this is a fun time for all of us. I enjoy watching the kids! Especially those that really don’t excel very well and how thrilled they are, along with all the spectators, when they do something good.Â
Have a great week, stay cool, and look for the good in all those you come in contact with each day.
Blessings…….
