Tomorrow will be another new adventure in our time here in Wilmore. George and I have volunteered to work at theIchthus festival that’s being held here in Wilmore. I had never heard of it until we came here and it’s a Christian version of Woodstock. They have 20,000 + in attendance and some of the more famous Christian musicians will be performing over a 3 1/2 day period. This is like a big youth rally but with some doing community things like pick up trash., etc..like one young man said, we have gotten our earthly home dirty and it’s time to clean it up. Needless to say, Wilmore is almost a busy place due to all our visitors. Most of them will stay on the Ichthus farm in tents, campers, etc. I’m looking forward to seeing all that will be going on tomorrow. I hear there’s always some very interesting sights and the fashions are unique to say the least! I will be doing some sort of sales while George is doing stuff like pick up trash, etc. I’ll let you know how it goes later on. Â
Tyler continues to be a pleasure to have with us…although I think he’s missing home and all the activities that goes with a large family. Old folks can be somewhat boring! He and George worked really hard today in tearing out one of the cellar windows that had lots of damage to it and they then poured some concrete to make a seal. I guess on Saturday, George will create the window and finish it up. We had talked to our “handyman, Andrew” about doing this but he’s so busy…plus his wife had their third baby on Tuesday…that George decided to do it himself. He’s the best handyman around!!! Tyler will be staying with Tanya tonight and all day tomorrow while we’re at Ichthus.
Tomorrow night the championship little league ballgame will be played…it’s at 7:30 p.m…so it will be a full day for us. We work the festival from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and it’s hot and humid here which should help keep our energy level stretched to the max. Everyone cheer for the RANGERS, please.
Saturday morning Melissa is coming for Tyler and bringing one of my friends with her, Margaret Jenkins. We’ll have lunch together and then it’s back to the ball field for us for the presentations of trophies, etc. Should we loose tomorrow, they will have to play one more game at 4 p.m. … so like I said, ROOT FOR THE RANGERS!!!
I’ll be back soon and hope you will be enjoying all the adventure of each day. God is so amazing and reveals his constant love and grace to each of us…and for that I’m eternally thankful!
Blessings………
