Last night George and I went to the Lexington Opera House to see the musical “Memphis” and it was really good. The entire cast was very talented and the lead lady…Jasmin Richardson…is a graduate of Abilene Christian and she represented their drama department well. This was my birthday gift and just happen to fall on Valentines day so it was a double treat. The weather was threatening but we braved it all and had a wonderful evening/night.
We had more snow during the night last night and I pray that will be the last snow fall for this year. I have serious doubts that we won’t have more snow, but I can sure pray we won’t. This entire winter has really been one for the record books…should have stayed in Florida! To bad the lack of funds, time, etc. made us come back home. Oh well, there’s always next year.
I talked with my dad on Thursday night and he’s doing well but still missing mom so much. He said he has several good cries every day…and we both had one on the phone…but that’s OK ’cause that vacant spot in his heart will never be filled I’m sorry to say. From what we hear, he’s adjusted well to his new “home” but he said it’s not really “home” since mom isn’t there but it’s just a place to live. Thankfully he’s staying well and trying to make new friends with some of the other gentlemen he eats dinner with.
Just one more week and we should have our kitchen back again…at least making it easier to work in there. We are scheduled to get the new counter tops on Thursday and I pray the sink, water, etc. will be installed then too…may be later, but I can sure hope for Thursday. We have managed well and haven’t missed any meals but the lack of water is the biggest hardship. We have set folding tables over the cabinet tops so I do have some work area but the running back/forth to the bathroom sink to use, or get, water is getting old. OK, I admit it, I’m spoiled to having running water in the kitchen and I whine when I don’t have any.
Guess that’s about it for now so I’ll get back to my knitting. Sure glad I have this hobby during these cold, cold, dreary days. Come warm weather, the knitting is always put on the back burners. I’m like my mother in that I like to plant flowers, pull weeds, dig in the dirt, then watch things grow. Have a wonderful day tomorrow worshiping with other believers while praising our Lord and Savior. Stay warm! Love to you all.
Blessings…..
