Happy Father’s Day!

Dad, I hope you have enjoyed this Father’s day and will be able to celebrate many more.  You know how special you are to me and all of us.  I will call and see how your weekend went in Waco, etc. later today.

George and I have had a great Father’s day with the Crockett’s.  We went canoeing at Elkhorn Creek in Owenton, KY. which is about 1 1/2 hours from Wilmore.  We had so much fun and we were thankful that no one tipped their canoe over.  We only did the six mile trip and think we might be up for the 12 mile trip on our next round.  The fishing wasn’t good…George and Daniel both caught one…because the water was up due to the heavy rain we had on Friday.  Our picnic lunch was tasty, however.  The kids enjoyed swimming and riding the current in the river.  Thanks Tanya and Daniel we really enjoyed our day!

We went to a couple of the final concerts at Ichthus last night and heard David Crowder and Casting Crowns.  David Crowder was really good and the crowd was in the thousands!  This was quite an experience and, even with Friday being a bad weather day that cancelled out Toby Mac, it was a good time for all those attending.  The last estimate I heard about the number of people there was 20,000 and I believe it.  The kids are all well behaved and really love sharing their faith and commitment to Christ.

Melissa came for Tyler yesterday and only stayed for a couple of hours but it was good seeing her and the kids.  She brought Margaret Jenkins with her and that was a treat…she even brought us three jars of homemake strawberry preserves.   YUMMY!!!

The RANGERS are the CHAMPIONS!!!  The season is now over.  We do have a final cook out with them tomorrow night that should close us out completely.  Jerod had a rough inning resulting in three errors at first base…first time all year.  But, he redeemed himself the next inning by hitting a HOME RUN driving in three runs.  He really hit that ball solid and we were glad to have all those runs…final score was 13-8.  Jerod and Blake both had a good final game but now it’s time for them to concentrate on their swim team.  All four of the kids are on a swim team and all do really well.

Again Happy Father’s Day to George, Dad, Carter, Clark, Byron, and Daniel.  You are some of the greatest!

Blessings……..
