One month ago today, I received a call at 1:30 a.m. from my brother telling me that our mother had passed and was now safely in the arms of Jesus.  Even though she was in the hospital due to excessive fluids from having congestive heart failure, she was improving and was suppose to be going “home” within a day, or so.  I was  so sad, shocked, and grieved so much for our dad and what his life would now look like.  So many changes were taking place for him…they had to leave their home at University Place for mom to be in rehab and dad to get the nursing care he needed…knowing mom had broken her back and would probably never walk again…Mom’s death and his 75 + years of having her as his best friend and soul mate was over…moving once more to the Chisholm House Assisted Living Facility…learning how to live alone has been so hard for him…and coping with the grief and  aloneness he’s living at age 94.  He’s coping well, but many tears are shed each day and that’s OK as I, too, shed tears most every day.
Our kitchen is getting better! Â We got the counter tops…not the cabinets as I keep saying…and they look great. Â They are white with dots of gray and black and really brighten up our kitchen. Â The back splash is to be put in today, but so far we haven’t heard from anyone. Â It’s going to be great whenever it FINALLY gets finished. Â I may post a picture or two when it’s completed.
Got laundry to do so guess I’ll get busy doing it. Â Pray for dad, for Madi with her broken pelvis due to stress from running track, and that spring will finally get here soon. Â We’re even seeing a touch of green in the grass with the snow gone, a little warmer days, and even some sunshine. Â Love to you all.
Blessings…….
