We are having Ed and June Valentine for dinner tonight and we’re looking forward to getting to know them better. We met them last fall when they were one of the ones to open their home for a house church. Unfortunately, it did not survive for various reasons, but they hope to try again in late summer. They are nice people and we wish them the best.
Madi is coming tomorrow to stay with us for a few days and that will be fun. She loves being with Meredith so I imagine she’ll be here a lot, too. Summer is flying by and the kids will be back in school before we know it. I want to have Kyle and Ryan come, also, so we’re working around the camp and vacation schedules. I’m sure Melissa would love for us to take all four at once, but we really enjoy the one-on-one so we can make each one know how special they are.
The heat and humidity is coming back tomorrow and I’m not thrilled about that. I love having the house open with no A/C on but when it gets in the high 80’s with lots of humidity I’ll close everything and turn the A/C on.Â
I finished reading a book called “The Penny” by Joyce Meyers and Deborah Bedford and it was a good read. One of the characters was named Aurelia…George’s mother’s name…and that’s an unusual name I’ve never heard used by anyone else. Even though this book is fiction, I believe there’s a lot of truth in it about Joyce Meyers’ life. My next book to read is “The Knitting Circle” by Ann Hood and hope it will be as interesting.
Guess I’d better get my walk over with before it gets too warm. Enjoy the day!
