This week has flown by and we’ve gotten to enjoy a couple of difference seasons…spring, winter, back to spring, with winter showing up again on Sunday. You just gotta love March in Kentucky! We’re at least headed in the right direction and spring will be here to stay before much longer…or we’ll just jump right into summer.
Linda Lou is having her surgery, as I write this blog, and I’m praying so hard that this time she will get fixed and be free of all pain forever! If the doctor was correct on how long it’d take, she should be half way through and I know Lawrence and Buddy are on pins and needles. I talked to Lawrence yesterday and he said Linda had a much better night…Wednesday night…since she was admitted to the hospital early so she could receive the “strong” stuff to help her pain. She’s lost over 30 pounds this year already ’cause she was in so much pain and food wasn’t appealing to her. We’re praying, Linda, and may your recovery be quick and you’ll once more feel like living. Love you!
I, also, talked to Lorin yesterday and their remodel is moving right along but it’s also somewhat overwhelming at times. One bedroom is near completion…they are living out of the two unfinished bedrooms with zero access to a kitchen…but they are both optimistic they will survive this. I failed to ask about the injured hand, but I’m assuming it’s doing OK.
Dad is still doing OK, health wise, but he’s so lonely and all he can talk about is his just sitting in his room and looking at mother’s pictures. We will be going down soon and spend just a couple of days with him even though he, most likely, won’t remember our being there. I want to take him to church so the people there can see him and he can see them…he misses getting to go to Hillcrest. We’ll find some other things to do while there so he will be out of the room more than usual…maybe go to the zoo or the mall…but we’ll need a wheelchair for whatever we do. His legs are very weak and walking is getting to be more of a problem.
Tanya comes back home tonight after a LONG, but worthwhile, conference all week for nurse practitioners in Boston. Their speaker last night was Richard Paul Evans and I would have enjoyed listening to him…he’s one of my favorite authors. She’ll come home to a busy week-end as Blake and Grayson will be playing baseball, Jerod will be in Louisville for the state academic events, and Meredith has dance. Should Jerod’s team win the pool play, they will compete again on Monday and we’ll go over for that…we can’t go on Sunday since we’re having our Life Group here Sunday night.
Madi is once more off of her crutches and the healing is slowly taking place. She’s not able to run track yet, but she’s still hoping she’ll be able to compete in the state events again this year. Guess time will tell!
I’ve rattled long enough and the “Suzy Homemaker” stuff isn’t getting done. Have a fabulous week-end and please pray for all the above…along with us all. Linda and Jim are staying busy in Vienna and the days are clicking off quickly so lots need to be completed before they return home. Love to you all!
Blessings……..
