We went to Frankfort, KY today and picked up Madison, our seven year old granddaughter from Louisville. We’re looking forward to the joy and fun she’ll bring to our lives this week…whatever that means. She’ll keep me busy, I’m sure, and she’ll probably feel bored at times. Hopefully, we’ll hit a happy medium. She’s use to a house full of brothers, lots of noise, and endless action. Our life is rather sedate and dull in comparison, but the kids love to come here and we enjoy having them. We want to have Kyle and Ryan before school starts back up in August.
We went to the Crockett’s swim meet this afternoon and that was fun. The kids are all really good swimmers and they all did well. Jerod was sick with pneumonia over the weekend so I was impressed how well he did since he’s not really back to being 100%. Jerod, Meredith, and Blake competed in six events and Grayson in three. Congratulations kids on how well you did in each event.
Tomorrow will be another HOT day so summer finally found it’s way to Wilmore. It’s suppose to be in the 90’s and we always have high humidity so it will be HOT!!! That’s still better than the cold of winter. The older I get the more I dislike cold. So bring it on…we’re ready!

I failed to mention that we enjoyed having Ed and June for dinner last night. They are also seeking ways to serve God more, in different ways than they have been doing for years, and longing to just be Jesus to the world. Being a pew warmer is not where it’s at for most of us. When we find ourselves spending all our time, energy, and money with people that think and act just like us something just has to be wrong. The world is where Jesus would be…not in a building. We continue to struggle to find our way, but we have definitely found a peace we didn’t have before. God is working…we just need to continue to “be still” and wait on Him to work out HIS plan for us and not for us to work out our plan for Him.
