Another first!

George, Tanya, and I ran/walked a 5K this morning here in Wilmore and it was a warm, sunny, morning with a slight occasional breeze.  We all finished well.  In fact, Tanya came in second place for the overall event (only 22.?? minutes for the 3.2 miles), George was in at 35.??, and I came in at 45.52 and placed second for my age group.  I was pleased with my time since Wilmore is a rather hilly little town and that’s a tad less than a 15 minute mile…I walked every step of the way.  I hope to find out what the time was for first place in my age group to see how well she did.  This isn’t my first 5K but it is the first time I placed…there were about 150 participants.  Some of the kids were really fast and the age range was from 5 years – 80 years.  There was a one mile race before the 5K and the kid that won that came in at 4.35 minutes…I think he cheated! Just kidding, he was really fast.  Oh well, another Wilmore first for the Ezell’s and Tanya.

Madi spent the night with Meredith last night and I know she was very excited about that.  Madi thinks Meredith makes the sun rise and shine each day!  We are suppose to go to the movies this afternoon to see “Wall E”…at least I think that’s the name of it.  Whatever it’s called it’ll be fun and the kids will enjoy being there along with all us adults.  Madi goes home Tuesday and I’m not sure she’ll be ready to do so.  One-on-one time is always the best!  We also had lots of fun at the pool yesterday after the Crockett kids got through with their swim lessons.

Meredith had her horse back riding lesson yesterday and Madi thought that was about the greatest.  That is until the horse stepped on Meredith’s foot.  She has a lot of bruising and I believe her little toe is broken and maybe her big toe.  I’m sure it’s sore today but she won’t admit it since she said the horse did it on accident.  She love animals…especially horses.

I enjoyed talking to my Uncle Lloyd and Aunt Betty yesterday from California.  They are visiting my parents in Texas and having fun seeing the sights of west Texas, eating some good bar-b-que and Texas size steaks along with their daughter Cathy and her husband that had never been to Texas.  It’s certainly a different scenery from California but one I have always loved.  They are great people and ones I’m glad to have in my family.  Some of my earliest memories are being with them when we all lived in California.  He was the uncle that would give you a dog…or better yet, a DUCK!

Guess I need to get myself together so I’ll be ready for the movies whenever they call.  Have a great weekend.

Blessings……..
