Another day…

I called Dad yesterday and my X sister-in-law, Kathy, answered the phone, much to my surprise…she works in that hospital and has been up to see dad previously…and for the first time, I’m not sure dad knew it was me.  He sounded so weak, raspy, and just plain sad!  Again dad couldn’t really understand all I was saying so our conversation was very limited.  Later yesterday afternoon Patsy, my sister-in-law, called me back to tell me more about dad.  He has improved enough to be released but he’s not been out of bed since he went to the hospital last Wednesday and is not eating.  Therefore, he’ll be placed on the “long term care” floor until he gets able to care for himself…at least starts eating again and able to walk with his walker.  PT will work with him each day so time will tell if he response.

When mother was in the hospital, she did all this, too, until one day she told me she just couldn’t die ’cause no one would be able to care for daddy like she would.  At that point, she began eating…even though the food was NOT good there…and was able to get out of the hospital for a month before she was back…you just don’t get over GHF as it always comes back filling up your chest/lungs with fluid until the heart gives out.  She never walked again, because of her broken back, but she could  function.  Dad doesn’t have the presence of mind, or something to really live for, so he lacks any real motivation for getting better.  Again my prayer is for The Lord to come quickly and let him dance on those golden street with mom!

Guess that’s about all for now.  Not much happening around our house.  All the UK fans are pouting and full of excuses, but such is the life of a basketball game.  UK did well considering the top players were all freshmen and still growing both physically and athletically.  Maybe next year, boys!

Enjoy the beautiful spring days with all the flowers, blooming trees, and green grass…and allergies!  I love the spring time beauty!  Love to you all.

Blessings…..
