We have had so much fun, made some great memories, and even saw some of my old stomping grounds. Last evening we went by the house where we lived when I was a child in East Dearborn and, boy, how it has changed. The current owners are in the process of adding on an addition that is twice the size of the original house, some homes were gone, but all the neighborhood looked nice. Of course, it’s all so different and the language spoken in that area is not American English! I’ll hang on to my memories but doubt I’ll ever see this area again.
We, also, went by Lawrence and Linda’s old house and it, too, looked very nice. They have added an addition to the back and the landscaping was really pretty. We saw where George worked all those many years ago and that brought back both good & bad memories for him. Ford’s is still a big operation here and we’re all thankful for that.
Of course, both of the ballgames we attended were fun and the Rangers won both games…12-2 and 12-4. The new stadium is very nice, as is the area around the stadium. Detroit is still full of graffiti and trash, but I do think they are trying to come back but it will be a very long hill climb. The streets are still a mess and in desperate need of repair but that won’t happen any time soon.
We’re headed to the Ford Museum this morning and then we’ll head for home. Thanks to the Crockett’s for inviting us to tag along and enjoy these last couple of days. It’s been great!!!
Time to go to the museum so I’ll close for now. Happy Memorial Day and thanks to all the many that have served, or are currently serving, to keep our country safe…at least as safe as it is. I love the USA and thankful for my life here and for all those in my life.
Blessings……
