The Party was a success….

What a great last couple of days we’ve had!  On Thursday, we met Melissa in Frankfort and picked up Ryan so he could spend some time with us here in Wilmore.  He has grown so much since the last time he was here and was a big surprise to the Crockett’s. On Friday, the three of us got up and headed to Nashville with our first stop being at a Cracker Barrel for lunch…big mistake.  The service was poor and the kitchen must have been on break as it took a LONG time for our lunch to get to our table.  When George was checking out, the manager ask how was it so he told him…got him a free iced tea…but that’s about it.  We’ll think twice before stopping there again but we will continue to eat at a Cracker Barrel when we travel.  Our second stop was at Linda and Jim’s in Nashville.  It’s always good being with them, even for just a few minutes.  Then we  finally got to Carter and Lori’s and it was so good being with them.  The remodel on the master bath is in full swing and it will be so nice once it’s finished…this remodel is going a lot slower than they had hoped, but I think that’s just the nature of doing a remodel.  Their next big project is to redo the kitchen and I would imagine that will also be a big “adventure” for them.  Of course, all of this will be worth it once they have survived it!  Next week will be a good week for them as they’ll be heading to the BEACH for that week.  The place they are renting is right on the beach so it ought to be a great week and I’m praying they’ll get a lot of rest and no sunburns.

On Saturday morning we didn’t do a lot except get ourselves ready for “The Party” of the year…the guys did stake the bean rows in the garden so that was constructive.  Buddy…our special needs nephew…was having his 50th birthday party celebrated with 150 +/- of his closest friends and family members.  To say he was thrilled, honored, and on cloud 9 is putting it all very mildly.  He truly was KING FOR THE DAY and I bet he’ll start thinking about his 60th before long.  Buddy is a wonderful man that is loved by everyone that knows him.  Fun, fun day and it was so good seeing the family members that were able to come and celebrate on this special day.  We also got to see some people we went to college with, or knew even before college, and that was fun…some of them are starting to look OLD, but then again, aren’t we all?  We arrived back home at midnight and we were all fast asleep within minutes of our arrival.  Was a memory making weekend for sure!  I feel so blessed to have all these different people in my life that have loved me, comforted me, and encouraged me throughout my life.  Love, love, love family!!!

Guess that’s about it for now and it’s time to get ready for church.  Love to all reading this and may we all take time to thank The Lord for family and all the special people we have in our lives that makes life worth living.

Blessings……..
