Home alone…almost

George and Ryan got the bed finished today and we’ll be taking it home to Ryan’s new room tomorrow.  The week has gone by quickly and I hope Ryan has enjoyed his being here this week.  You know OLD folks can be a little…really a lot…boring.  I know he’s worked more than he normally does, but that won’t kill him.  He and George both learned a lot about building loft beds…go to George’s blog for a picture of it…a desk will go under the bed so that’s why the open space.  George is going to make one for Jerod whenever Tanya decides it’s time and it should be easier for him now that he has experience.  George is enjoying doing these wood working projects and everything is turning out OK so far.

George and Ryan have gone fishing this evening and that should be fun after working for the last several days.  Of course, they took time off to go see the new Batman movie on Thursday…not my kind of movie so I stayed home.  We haven’t worked Ryan the entire time he’s been here but I feel sure there were moments he might have felt that way.   He did take more breaks than his Papa but he always had an excuse as to why he needed one.  You know being thirteen is tiring within itself!

We have had Tanya’s dog all week while they are on vacation in Chicago so that’s why I’m not home alone.  She’s a cute dog but not real smart at times.  She’s been absolutely no trouble because she sleeps the majority of the time.  She too is finding OLD people boring as compared to the four children she lives with.  She will go home on Sunday.

We will be bringing Kyle home with us tomorrow and he’ll be here all next week.  I don’t think he and George are suppose to be building something so I’m not sure just what we’ll do all week.  The Crockett’s will be home and I feel sure he and Jerod will want to spend a lot of time together along with Blake and Grayson.  That will end our individual visits with the Gabehart grandkids for this year.  Their school starts on Aug. 12 so summer has just about ended.

We’ll be headed for Iowa on Monday, Aug. 4th, to visit Clark, Vanessa, and Lacey.  We haven’t seen them for a year now and I’m getting very anxious about seeing them.  Clark is really busy with his job and going to college, but he said that would be a good time to visit so we’re going.  We’ll only stay a few days but that’s OK.

Guess I’ll close and enjoy reading my book before the fishermen get home.  I love reading everything written by Francine Rives and this story about Jonathan is another good one.

Blessings………
