It is SO-O-O good to be home!!!! I left Abilene yesterday morning at 7 and got home around 1:15 p.m. (+/-) EST…since the plane bringing us into Lexington had to have some mechanical issues corrected before we could leave. I’ve always thought it’s best to correct those issues while on the ground and not find them while 34,000 feet up in the air. But I’m no rocket scientist! It was fabulous to see George waiting for me with a big bouquet of flowers and to just be back in KY.
We…me and my siblings…did have a good time being together and sorting through the treasures the folks collected all their lives. We found some things that none of us had a clue as to what it was, why it was saved, and what should we do with it now…some things were even shocking! We shared lots of funny memories, a few sad ones, but we finally got through all the boxes after three days of near non-stop sorting, pricing, and then repacking for a future yard sale. Poor Lorin and Patsy!!!
We were saddened to hear that Patsy’s mother has died on Thursday after a long life…she was 99 years old…but thankful that Patsy was able to be with her as she left this life…Patsy had originally gone to KY on Wednesday to be with her good friend because her husband had died. The funeral for Mrs. Arnett will be on Monday, I think. Pray for the family as they say their final good-byes to their mother…never an easy thing to do. This year we have buried both of our parents, and now her mother. This has been a difficult year for sure but we are all blessed by being Christians and know we will be reunited when we, too, leave this life.
Since I am back to my normal life, we’ll be cleaning up the “blue house” today once our current guest leave and start getting it ready for the next guest to come in. George had our house all cleaned up, I did laundry once I got home, and now there’s not much to do so guess I’ll have to get back to my knitting/crocheting projects.
Enjoy your weekend and get busy cleaning out your closets, etc. Love to you all!
Blessings….
