Yesterday (Monday) we left our house around 6:15 a.m. to go to Murray, KY to help Patsy, and her extended family, say good-bye to their Mother. Mrs. Arnett lived to be 99 years old before she went to be with The Lord. This was not unexpected, but saying a final good-bye to your parent is always hard. Patsy, Lorin, Victoria, and Kevin will continue on but the void will always be there. This year has been a difficult year having lost both of our parents and now Patsy’s remaining parent. Thank goodness for the hope we all find in Jesus. Our trip was long…4 hours each way…but we are glad we went and feel sure our presence was a source of comfort for them.
I got my box of stuff from Lawrence that I had brought home from TX…mom and dad’s junk…and it’s all put away for our kids to have to deal with at some point! Some things will be used, some will be looked at, and some were “what was I thinking” while others were “who put that in my box”? Oh well, gotta love the memories that help you hang onto this stuff.
Have a good day, pray for Lorin and Patsy as they go home tomorrow…at least, I think they fly home tomorrow…and for all the kids that are now back in school We are excited that the twins are bringing their parents here for the Labor Day weekend and know that will be fun. Hope some of the other kids will get to join us but we’ll see. Since we didn’t know they were coming, the “blue house” is rented out so we’ll just have to crowd in to our sweet LITTLE house…makes for more memories, and excitement!!! Love to you all.
Blessings……
