Here it is the weekend….

This week has flown by and every day it seems as though it was hotter, and definitely more humid, than the day before.  Our summer weather took a while to get here…and from looking at the weather apt…it’s here to stay for at least another week.  Some areas are getting more rain than they need, but we’ve pretty much avoided all of it.  We have had some…in fact, we’ve had enough…so the grass is growing fast and keeping George on the go.  He’s been mowing four yards lately…our yard, the “blue house” yard, and both yards on either side of our house.  Our one neighbor was in Poland for a couple of weeks but got home on Friday so that took care of doing that yard any more, and the other neighbor is still in treatment for cancer and she’s been needing some help with her yard since she’s not up to snuff currently.

George continues to work in his workshop and has recently made me a very nice cutting board, several more bowls, and a bedside table that’s going to the “blue house” next week after our current guest leave.  I love it and know it will be a big improvement over the one that’s there.  He’s so crafty!!!  Cute, too!

The grandkids are all back in school and we pray this will be a good year for each of them.  The twins are in pre-school now and, I feel sure, they think they are now some of the BIG kids.  We are excited they are coming for the Labor Day weekend.  Clark and Vanessa MAY be here, too, if they can work it out with his very busy schedule.  I’d love to have all the kids here, but we’ll see how many will be able to show up.  We had no clue Scott and his family were coming, and the “blue house” has been rented out for months, so the weekend ought to be a cozy one!  Flash backs of some of the many Thanksgivings we had years ago.  Thankfully, we are now the OLD ones which means we’ll get a bed!!!!

Went to our little farmers market this morning and got some okra…hard to come by in this part of KY…tomatoes, potatoes, and cucumbers so we’ll eat good for the next day or so.  Fresh veggies are so much better than any bought at the grocery store.  I envy Carter and Lori in all the good stuff they’ve enjoyed from their BIG garden this summer.  We have a nice size back yard, but there’s to many big trees around for us to get enough sunshine to grow veggies.  Oh well, somehow we manage to stay fat, and sassy, so I guess store bought stuff is keeping us “up & at em”!

Enjoy this fabulous weekend.  Love to you all.

Blessings……
