Today has been another first for us…we attended a birthday party for Sugar…Meredith’s dog. It took place at lunch times so we had sandwiches and chips along with birthday cup cakes. The attendees were the Crockett’s, less Daniel,  Melissa and her three boys and their dog Pal…Madi was out of town…Meredith’s friend Cassie and her dog Teddy, and George and I. Each dog was dressed in some sort costume and they competed for a prize for being able to do the most tricks…George will be posting pictures on his blog. The boys were the judges…and they ALL thought the entire event was rather dumb; but with the threat of severe punishment, they co-operated very well. Pal won hands down on the contest, although each dog was able to do several tricks on command. We had to remind the boys often that they were doing this because it was very important to Meredith that Sugar celebrate her third birthday with a party. May the boys all be blessed with a full house of girls when they grow up!
Kyle has gone home and he seemed to have enjoyed his time here in Wilmore. He and Jerod were together every day so his time was split between the two homes. He’s a good boy, loves to play hard, but is very competitive…which isn’t always good…especially when it comes to playing kick ball! This is the first night in over two weeks that we don’t have a grandchild or a “grand-dog” staying with us.Â
Blake was sick the entire time Kyle was here so he didn’t get to play much with him. Blake has bronchitis and is feeling better today…not well yet, but some better. He went to the doctors twice this week along with a chest x’ray before he was diagnosed.
Tomorrow we’re planning on going to the Craft show at Shakertown…about 12 miles from here. They will have some pretty handcrafted items, but I really don’t need anything and have no where to put anything else, but I still like look.Â
We’ll be going to Clark’s on Monday and we’re looking forward to being with them. Here’s hoping you will enjoy your weekend, you’ll be able to stay cool, and find good in all you encounter.
Here’s a couple of quotes for you to ponder by Barbara Johnson…”Sometimes having a good day can be as easy as choosing to have one”…and a quote from a church sign…”God loves everyone but probably prefers ‘fruits of the spirit’ over ‘Religious nuts’!
Blessings……….
