We made it!!!….

After several days of being on the road we FINALLY arrived in Sarasota.  We were so blessed to have been able to visit with four of our five children, and the love of their lives, and fourteen of our fifteen grandchildren during the Christmas week.  We were also able to visit with my sister, Linda, and all her family and my brother, Lawrence, and his family.  We feel so blessed to have been able to be with them and catch up on what’s going on with each of them.

Once we left Tennessee, we were able to visit with George’s cousin, Jerry, and his sweet wife and see how they have transformed the “old” house into their beautiful home.  We were also able to visit with some special friends that use to live in Wilmore while he attended the seminary.  Yohan is now a Korean pastor of a UMC in Madison, Alabama and they are still adjusting to the southern culture.  So different than the Korean, or even the Wilmore, culture.  They are so sweet and Jenny went all out to fix us an American breakfast…her words…and it was delicious.  We were told we are the first “older” couple they have ever been friends with…even in Korea…as that’s totally out of their cultural norm.  We love them and will definitely stay in touch with them.

Want to know what heavy traffic is like?  Hit I-75 around Lake City, Florida when all the snow birds are headed to southern Florida!  It was stop and go, off and on, all the way into Sarasota.  The north should be just about void of motor homes and OLD people!  Thankfully we made it safely here but we left the sunshine back in the panhandles of Florida.  It’s going to be in the low 70’s today…was 78 yesterday…but cloudy.   Regardless of what we have today, it’s 100% better than the 18 degrees in Wilmore!

This year of 2014 truly was a year of much sadness for us with having to say good-bye to both mom and dad.  Of course, we are thankful they are no longer in the pain and loneliness they were in when they left this life, but oh how I have missed them both.  We’ve also seen much joy…Clark got a new, and better, job and they moved to Kansas…Chance got married…Chase joined the Army and is in the special forces unit…Lacey got her dream job…Sean got engaged…all the other grandchildren are excelling in all they do…Carter/Lori got their remodel done on their house and it’s beautiful…Melissa closed on over 34 homes in her job…Scott is busy keeping up with the two houses…Carter is still traveling a lot…Tanya’s practice continues to grow in number and satisfaction.  As for George and I…we are both doing well, still loving working our “blue house”, and will always remain fat and sassy.  Therefore, life is good, we are blessed, and now to enjoy the sunshine once it shows up.

Have a great 2015 and know you are all loved by us.

Blessings…..
