Yesterday began as a rainy and dreary day but was soon turned into a sunny, enjoyable day. Therefore, here’s our first of our firsts! We were on the dock fishing…even caught a nice cat fish…but I soon wanted to just read and enjoy the sunshine when we heard a big splash! The owners BIG dog had accidentally fallen into the canal and could not get out because the tide was out. He is swimming like crazy and ends up UNDER the dock and we had to coach him out so we could figure out how to get him out of the canal before he drowned. He’s 12 years old, a beautiful long haired Russian dog of some sort, and is now crying like a baby. I am finally able to grab his collar and George was able to get his upper half up while I grabbed his tail and lifted his lower half up. A BIG WET DOG IS RATHER HEAVY!!! He was one happy dog to be out of the water and we were happy we got him out. Hopefully, he won’t walk that ledge again while we’re here.
Our second first was last night. We met some Wilmore friends for dinner…along with another couple from NC…and then we all went to a Gospel Quartet concert. It was good and, I must say, it’s definitely for all the OLD folk ’cause there were no young ones anywhere! One group sings in Pigeon Forge a lot and they were the most entertaining so it was worth the time and ticket/donation price.
Not much going to happen today…at least this morning…as I’m doing laundry currently, but I will get out for my walk in just a little bit. We are still not bored and loving our being here even though it’s cooler than normal…definitely better than what’s happening in Wilmore.
Have a good weekend and know we are thinking of you and praying winter will be over soon…since it began so early. Love to you all.
Blessings….
