What a difference a 1,000 miles can make! Yesterday at home, they got several inches of snow while we had a thunderstorm, along with tornado warnings until 4 a.m. this morning. Our storm did wake us up around 1 a.m., and we lost power briefly, but we just got lost of rain. Now today it’s very windy, cloudy, cool, and a day to basically stay inside. Amazing what all God can do.
Last evening we met Ron and Jean for dinner and then went to the Venice theatre to see the “Buddy Holly Story” play. It was very good and all of us OLD folks got to remember our teens for those few hours. Lots of talented people entertained a sold out crowd. So it was worth the cost and time.
We were going to go to the Venice Art/Craft fair today, but with the weather like it is, we have about decided to just stay home. I’d be surprised if the vendors would want to display their stuff in this windy, damp weather. If I were them, I’d be concerned that my “ART” would either be damaged or blown away. The artist work hard on creating their stuff but most of it only looks good in Florida!..and some of it doesn’t even look good here. Tomorrow, after church, we’re planning on attending the St. Armands art show and their show is truly ART…along with the prices. It’s always interesting and there are lots of vendors, along with very interesting shoppers to watch. Sure hope the weather improves for that.
On Tuesday we’ll drive up to Tampa to spend the day with Lori and do some fun stuff with her…Carter will be working, unfortunately. Once Carter’s day of work is over, we’ll visit over dinner and then head back to Sarasota…about an hours drive. We’re thankful for any time we can have with any of our kids!
Next weekend we’re meeting up with our niece, Teresa, and her family…always enjoyable…to catch up over dinner and to deliver some things she’d gotten from her Mimi and Grandad. They, like most young families, are very busy keeping up with all the activities the kids are in…and just life in general. Regardless, we’re looking forward to that fun time.
Guess that’s about it for now. Enjoy the snow all of you that love it, but I’ll take this Florida weather any time…even the cooler, rainy, windy days. Love to you all!
Blessings…..
