We painted the east side of the house this morning…may I mention in the blazing sun with 90 degree temperatures…and it looks so much better. George has the two windows to do but that will get done at a later date. The west side is all that’s left and it’s the side with the highest sections…our lot slopes down on this side. I’ll again do all the low parts, plus as high as I can reach, and George will do the rest. As far as I know, once the windows are done, this should complete the work we wanted to do on the outside of our house. I want to paint each room on the inside, but it may be next spring before I get any desire to do so after doing the outside. I’ve said I want to paint the porch but that’s certainly not at the top of my priority list anymore.
August weather has finally arrived and, hopefully, it won’t stay long. We are really needing rain but it seems that only Texas and Florida are being blessed with it right now. We don’t want the flooding or high winds, just a nice gentle rain would be nice. We are thankful our Florida friends were not hit by the latest hurricane want-a-be. Thankfully this storm never got beyond a “tropical storm” with only a few tornadoes being spawned from it.Â
We’re going to Elizabethtown, KY. on Sunday to see Andrew…the young man that was in the very serious car accident 18 + months ago…as he’ll be home from rehab for the week.  He’s made remarkable progress, since most doctors thought he’d be a little more than a vegetable should he even live, but he’ll have to continue to work hard to get even better. His family is having a BIG open house for him so we can all give him even more encouragement to improve. It will be hard for him to have to go back to Texas for months of additional rehab but he’ll do it. He’s already proven himself to be a fighter! The prayers offered for him and his family have been tremendous. Please keep it up as they will need them even more after he’s back at the center.
Not much news so guess I’ll get back to my “resting” position.
Blessings……..
