What an absolutely beautiful week-end to have all the derby festivities. Spring has finally sprung here in the bluegrass state and we are all thrilled! This has been a busy week-end for us and we didn’t even go to anything remotely connected with the derby. Unfortunately for a lot of people, our normal derby party is to be no more since the host for these died this past winter due to a massive heart attack. Gene was a godly man and loved sharing his joy of cooking with all of us but we are thankful he is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
Friday night we ate dinner with our former neighbors that are on back in the USA from their mission field, Saturday I went to a breakfast tea for the ladies in our life group and then we had dinner that evening with some current neighbors that were celebrating their daughter’s 17th birthday, and then last evening Tanya has us over for dinner. I guess I’ll have to get back in the kitchen tonight but it’s been fun while it lasted.
This was also the week-end for the high school’s prom that Meredith and Jerod went to. They both looked stunning, along with their dates, and they said they had lots of fun. One of the families from church had their usual “after the prom” gathering at their home that lasted until 7 a.m. and that, too, was lots of fun, safe, and chaperoned. Good kids deserve good times and these kids benefited.
Here’s Jerod and Meredith, but I didn’t include their dates, even though they looked equally stunning. Jerod and Meredith have grown up so fast and we are proud of the people they are becoming…they both love God, family, learning, and having fun!
Our guest leave the “blue house” today so that means lots of washing of sheets and towels but our next guest don’t come in until Thursday so I have lots of time. We are very busy over there and have every week-end, plus lots of week days, booked through August 15th. We still love doing this and feel blessed we have this as an outreach…along with some added income for us. We constantly meet really good people and they all say they enjoy our guest home.
Gotta get busy. Have a wonderful week and I’ll be back soon. Love to all!
Blessings…..
