I think we can all agree that it has gotten HOT and the bitter cold of winter is becoming a fond remembrance. The HOT doesn’t really bother me but this humidity has got to lighten up! Some days while I’m out walking, I can hardly breathe the air is so thick. After tomorrow, we’ll be getting a couple of days of “normal” temperatures so life is still good here in central Kentucky.
This past week-end was a good one as we celebrated George. Of course, all the guys in the family are good fathers and deserving of being celebrated but George is at the top of my list! Of course, I still miss being able to talk with daddy and hearing him but I will just hang on to the many memories…that was his second father’s day being with the Lord. We were also blessed to have Carter, Lori, Chance, and Emily here to help with the celebration. We enjoyed a dinner of ribs, with lots of sides, and ending with banana pudding. Needless to say, no one when home hungry! A fun time for sure!!!
Thursday and Friday of last week, we were able to catch some baseball games that Tyler and Blake were playing in…on different teams and different areas of Lexington. Between the extreme heat and humidity, we had to dodge the heavy rain and flooding every day of the tournament. Several games were cancelled due to the weather but we managed to catch a couple of games for both of them and we enjoyed that. Both are good ball players and love the sport with hopes of playing in college some day.
Not much news and today is another “clean the blue house” day along with some yard work. Another fun day in the life of two OLD people. Stay cool and enjoy these “long days of summer” as we know they won’t last forever. Love to all!
Blessings……
