What a surprise!…

Another rainy, stormy morning in central KY.  We have had lots of rain this year…up over 3 inches of our annual rainfall for this time of the year…and poor California can’t seem to get a drop.  Everything around here is so green and lush and George is mowing lawns twice a week…or whenever he can get enough break between the rain showers.  The farmers are needing the ground to dry up a bit so the crops won’t rot out in those soggy fields.

We had a good time in Louisville yesterday.  First off…we went to see Ryan, Courtney, and Jesse.  Jesse is a cutie and doing very well.  His parents think he has his days and nights mixed up but that, too, will work itself out.  Secondly…we got to spent some time with just Kyle over a good lunch at Olive Garden…his choice.  He’s so ready to start college and find out just all that entails.  He’s hoping to come up here for a few days just before he heads to Western and that will be great if he can work that out.  He’s a really good guy and I feel sure he’ll do well in whatever his chosen field of study will be.  Thirdly…we went to the visitation for our friend, Vicki Whitmore, that had died suddenly last week.  She was in her 50’s so it was a shock to all that loved her.   The good part of this was that we got to see several friends from Okolona that we hadn’t seen for awhile.  That’s always the way it is at a funeral or a wedding.  Our fourth, and final, stop was at the Gabeharts.  Melissa and Madi had just gotten home from Madi’s track event…she finished 3rd and that’s not bad considering her feet are still somewhat of a mess…Byron and Tyler had just gotten back from Indy so we got to see them, too.  Tyler ‘s team came up short in the tournament he was in so that’s why they were home a day early.  After all that we were back home earlier that we had expected, and that was good.  A busy day, but a very good day.

Linda Lou, our sister-in-law, had yet another surgery this week on a foot.  She’s doing well but knows that in the future she’ll have to have another surgery on the ankle in order to give her more mobile.  She’s had far more surgery than anyone I know and we pray this will all be over with on the next one.

Almost time for worship so I’ll getting off of here.  Have a good day, stay dry if possible, and love is being sent to you all.

Blessings….
