A crazy week….

We have been watching Pal…Melissa’s family dog…for over a week now and things are not looking good!  Since he has been here he had developed a bad allergy reaction to something, has been to a groomer to be groomed and for a flee bath and they literally cut off ALL his hair.  He has scratched..or licked off..the stubby hair that was left ,completely off in several areas.  I have been giving him Benadryl for the itching…along with the Benadryl cream on the raw spots…and nothing is helping.  He looks so pitiful and I’m praying he’ll survive until they get back on Wednesday!  We have him wrapped in an ace bandage, or large bandage patches, to try to keep him from digging any deeper.   He’s still eating well, sleeps well when he’s not itching, and acting OK for the most part…but he’s just plain pitiful.  I dread Melissa having to get him back like this…sure not the same dog that was turned over to us.  We’re trying to find a vet to see him today, but so far not much success.  I’m sure there’s one somewhere that will see him before the day is over and hope it won’t cost a bunch!  Gotta love having a pet and this reminds me as to why we don’t have one.  I do love animals but we are not at a point of wanting another one full time for now…or ever!

Today is a very special day for my sister.  iI’S HER BIRTHDAY!!!  She’s a jewel of a person, beautiful both inside and out, and I feel so blessed to have her as my one, and only, sister.  Enjoy your day, Linda, and may you be blessed with many more happy, healthy, and eventful years.  Love you!  Also, a big happy birthday to one of her granddaughter’s…Sadie…as it’s also her birthday.  She will always be Linda’s best present ever!!

Tomorrow we will be going to Louisville for our dear friend, Phyllis Trevathan.’s funeral.  She was such a special friend and loved by so many.  Her health was very poor these last few years but we are thankful she’s now at peace and with her Charles standing at the feet of Jesus.  She and Charles were life savers to us and we will always cherish them.  Rest sweet, Phyllis, and now to dance with your Charles and all the Lord’s angels.  You will be celebrated and so deserving of it.  You will always missed but never forgotten.

Guess I’d better get back to looking for a vet.  Have a good day, sing the birthday song to Linda, and stay cool…very hot and humid in KY right now.  We did have the most spectacular cloud coverage this morning as a front moved in before giving us a little rain to help keep the humidity high.  God continues to amaze me as to his artistry and splendor each day.  Love to you all.

Blessings…..
