What a beautiful week we are having weather-wise! The temperatures have been mostly in the upper 70’s, to low 80’s, with low humidity making for an absolutely beautiful week. I’ve removed some of the spring/summer flowers…that were looking rather worn…with some fallish flowers in both yards and that really improved the looks for both yards. We do need some rain but, so far, it seems as though it’s going everywhere but Wilmore. Guest we got more than our share back in the spring and early summer.
Yesterday we went to Louisville to visit with the Gabeharts and that was fun. Everyone is doing well and baby Jesse is getting so cute. He coo’s now and wants to talk just like all the many faces that are always in his, so the facial expressions are so sweet. He is a good baby but is quite the spitter…nothing like his daddy was, thank goodness! We missed seeing Kyle as he was at WKU and seems to be adjusting well there. Melissa fixed a good dinner, we all enjoyed, before we headed back home. We need to do this more often as it’s really not far from our house to theirs. They are so busy and we don’t want to get in the way, but we are going to try and get over more often…besides, Melissa is a good cook!!!
Just eight more days and we’ll be leaving to go to Florida and I can’t wait. We did this a couple of years ago and had so much fun and we’re expecting nothing less this time. Carter and Lori are so generous to want to get us all together and we are so thankful.
Scott and Allison…along with the boys…moved into their new house yesterday and I sure don’t envy what they’re having to do. Moving is NEVER fun but this will be so nice once they get it just like they want it. This next year will require a lot of patience, along with money, but that will be accomplished, I’m sure.
Today, George and I will be digging up some of our day lilies and hosta’s to transplant at the “blue house”…or pitch in the garbage…as they have overgrown the flower beds. They are nice but don’t look so pretty when they are crowding out everything else in the beds. This is something that should have been done several years ago but we never got “’round-to-it” and not something either one of us really like to do.
The business at the “blue house” has finally slowed down, for awhile, but will pick up again in October, and then that’s about it for 2015. We were very busy this spring/summer and we are so thankful for each and every guest that came our way. We still enjoy this avenue of additional income so we’ll carry on in 2016.
Have a great week-end and since it’s going to warm back up, stay cool! Love to you all.
Blessings……
