We left the beach…along with Carter, Lori, Butch, and Jean…early Saturday morning. Early was as in 4:50 a.m. wake up time! George and I both woke up about the same time, gathered all the remaining items we hadn’t packed the night before, and hit the road at 5:15 a.m. Our day started out as a rainy one but that ended after just a couple of hours and it was a beautiful travel day. We did manage a quick stop in Athens, AL. to eat lunch at Whitney’s BBQ restaurant…that’s a cousin of George’s…and it was a good lunch. Unfortunately, Whitney wasn’t around so we didn’t get to catch up on any family news. The next stop was another quick one at Carter and Lori’s in Franklin, TN to drop off a bunch of their beach stuff that they couldn’t fit into their car. From that point on, we had one goal and that was to get home!!!. After a little over eleven hours, we were home and thankful for our safe travels, the time we had at the beach, and the joy of sleeping in our own bed that night. Thanks again for having us all together, Carter/Lori, and we’ll look forward to another gathering in a few years. Love you both and we’ll see you in October.
Saturday evening, and Sunday afternoon, I got all the laundry done and was glad to get that over with. Laundry has never been a big deal for me, but when I didn’t do any the entire week at the beach, and guest left the “blue house” while we were gone, it did make for a lot of loads. So thankful for my good washer and dryer!
We are definitely back in our grove as we got to clean the “blue house” today, along with doing LOTS of yard work over there. It looks great, if I say so myself, and the cooler weather sure made it a lot more enjoyable working outside than it was the last time we did that.
Tomorrow I will be having my first cataract surgery and will be looking forward to having “perfect” vision in that eye. At least, that’s the goal. The left eye will be done on the 29th and I will be back to my mono vision and shouldn’t need glasses for distance or reading ever again. Sure hope it works!
Guess that’s about it for now. Enjoy the week and the changing of the seasons while raking up the leaves. Love to you all.
Blessings….
