Our few hours in L’ville

Yesterday afternoon George and I went to Louisville to watch Kyle and Tyler play baseball.  Naturally they are on different teams and playing at the same time which proves to be fun trying to see both when they’re up to bat…but we managed and it was fun being with all of them.

The kids didn’t know we were coming because it was a rather cloudy day with rain in the area but we decided to risk it.  So they were all quite surprised!  Rain never showed up except for a few sprinkles as we drove into town.  Thankfully, it rained in Wilmore while we were gone.  One team tied and the other lost but it was OK.  After the games we went to a Mexican restaurant and enjoyed a good meal.  By the time we got out of there it was 8:30 and bedtime for the younger ones.  Madi so wanted us to come back to the house for just a little bit longer but we knew it would be easier gettting them to bed if we didn’t.  She said she just “wanted us to stay a little bit longer”…she’s really missed having her Mimi and Papa around every day.  They are all so sweet and growing up so fast.  Madi looks really cute with her two front teeth missing!  Hopefully, we’ll get back down there before the ball season ends the 30th of September.

We’ll be going to the Smokies on Monday and looking forward to a fun four days with our friends Ron and Jean Like from Kansas.  They are so enjoyable to be around…we met in Florida several years ago at church and became almost instant friends.

We’ll also swing by Carter and Lori’s in Garden Dale, AL…outside of Birmingham…on our way home to see them for a night, then head to Athens, AL to see George’s aunt Imogene, Jerry, and Kelsey…been ages since we’ve seen them.  We will also stop at Linda and Jim’s on our way home Sunday afternoon and enjoy a cup of coffee with them before we head for home.  The trip will be a full one but one we’re looking forward to…hope our OLD van will hang in there and give us no problems.  It’s got over 180,000 miles on it and beginning to show its age at times.  I don’t want a new one because they cost too much so pray the van will last a while longer.

No additional news so guess I’ll go find myself something constructive to do.  Those of you in Texas…hold on tight, try to stay dry, and pray for all those that will have their homes either damaged or destroyed by this hurricane.

Blessings…….
