I do believe the absence of sunshine is the cause for my being “grumpy”…at least not feeling upbeat! It’s been days since the sun has shown itself and the rain can, also, stop now as we’ve had enough! It’s no wonder we’re looking forward to our two months in Florida.
We left Clark’s on Saturday morning with ice on the roads…but the roads were not too bad if you were being careful. We only saw one semi that had jack knifed and one car in the medium so we felt it would be OK to continue on. The ice was all the way past KC and then the temperature were higher so we had rain from that point on. It took us 14 1/2 hours to make it to Wilmore so we were bushed by the time we got here at 12:15 a.m. We, also, had a stop/go on the interstate due to an accident that took us about 20 minutes, or more, to get through. Regardless of the distance, ice, traffic, etc. we are thankful we were able to go and to have such a wonderful time with family and friends.
Not much happening around here now that I’ve got the laundry all done for both us and the “blue house” and the house cleaning done for now. We’re having a couple of neighbor ladies in for dinner tomorrow evening and I didn’t want them to be chased out by the dust bunnies coming from under all the furniture. One of these ladies, Kirsty, will be our house sitter while we’re in Florida. She was our across-the-street neighbor before she left the seminary and went back to Mississippi. She’s back for her final year and is renting a “ROOM” from a lady, so a house seems better and more relaxing and conducive for studying. Besides, she’ll feed our semi-feral cat!
I need to get back to my crocheting so have a good, soggy day and stay dry, if possible. Love to all!
Blessings….
