Week five…

As we begin our sixth week of being in Florida, can we all pray we’ll have many sunny days from now until February 24th?  We’ve had MANY rainy days, days of just being gloomy, very cool to almost cold days, lots of very windy days, and many days of little, to NO, sunshine what-so-ever!  How can a girl get a good sun tan with days like we’re having?  I admit it’s all better than the big snow, along with the extremely cold temperatures back home, but it’s sure not the norm for this area.  Guess we should have gone to Texas as I’m hearing it’s really warm and sunny there.  Oh well, some things we just can’t control.

This last week we enjoyed having Linda and Jim with us, until Tuesday evening, and they got to enjoy all the above mentioned weather issues while here.  We did have some sunshine so that was good.  We were able to go to the beach for a couple of hours each day…even if we had to wear a jacket on some…and even managed to catch a beautiful sunset one evening.  We had some friends in for dinner on Friday evening, and that was enjoyable.  George had a follow-up appointment on Friday afternoon with his neurologist and that went well.  He’s now on a “call me should you need me” plan.  Praise God, George continues to do well and his blood pressure is being managed.

Today after church we went to the St. Armand’s art fair and saw lots of stuff that would never work in our Kentucky home…even if we could afford it…but it was truly art and not the normal “crafty” stuff.  St. Armand’s is outside of Sarasota and a very upscale, beautiful area where quite a lot of the upper 1% call home.

We’ll be meeting up with Ron and Jean later today to visit and play cards.  We may even make plans for the fishing trip we’ve been talking about since before we all got here.  So far very little fishing has been done and very little, to none, were caught when fishing did take place.  This crazy weather will be blamed for that, too.

Guess that’s about it for now.  Have a good week and enjoy these warmer days many of you are enjoying right now.  In fact, this morning Wilmore was just 3 degrees cooler than what we were having here in Englewood, and that’s just not right!!!  Love to you all.

Blessings….
