Been a busy last few days….

We left Englewood, Florida last Tuesday afternoon around 1:45 p.m and headed for Wilmore.  We were suppose to leave on Wednesday morning but since we had the apartment clean and the car packed, we decided to go ahead and head north.  We only went to Valdosta, GA before we stopped for dinner, to spend the night, and to watch the UK basketball game….we did things in reverse from our normal.  We usually have day one as the longest day but this time our second day was our longest.  We got home around 5 p.m on Wednesday afternoon, and it was good to be back home.  Tanya had invited us to dinner if we were going to be there around 5…so that was our goal and our accomplishment…they had somewhere to go at 6;30.  The kids didn’t know we were coming and were very surprised when we walked in…a warm welcome is always a plus!

After dinner, the fun really began…unpacking and putting all that stuff away.  Why do we seem to think we need so much stuff for just two months?  It took us several hours to bring it all in, sort it, and put it away but it we got it done with time to relax aka “go to bed” at a decent hour.  Thursday was another fun day of grocery shopping, cleaning “somewhat” on our house, and going through two months worth of mail…not a fun day!  Early Friday afternoon we headed to Louisville to help Clark and Vanessa do the finishing touches for the rehearsal dinner.  This was a very nice affair with a Mexican “Fiesta” theme, delicious Mexican entree’s, and lots of people.  It was held in a beautiful older home in the Highlands of Louisville…one of my favorite sections of Louisville…and it was a great event.  We headed back home and was back in Wilmore around 11 +/-…we were tired!

Saturday we were headed back to Louisville once again…glad it’s only about 1 1/2 hour drive…for Sean and Theresa’s wedding.  It was held in one of the restaurants in downtown Louisville and things got a little confusing for a little while.  We were originally ask to be there at the restaurant for pictures at 5 p.m so we said OK.  Well, we get a call as we are going down I-64 telling us to meet at the Seelbach Hotel at 5:45 for pictures…beautiful OLD hotel downtown and many of the wedding guest were staying there.  We arrive and we then waited, and we waited, but no pictures were taken and we were all ask to go back to the restaurant.  We arrive back at the restaurant at 6:15 and they said we couldn’t come into the Loft area…wedding location…until 6:45 so we again wait.  Once we got past all that, the wedding took place and it was very sweet and they seem to be very happy to be Mr. And Mrs.

We had a lovely sit down meal, enjoyed conversation with others, but really enjoyed our time as a family while we ate.  Our table consisted of Clark, Vanessa, Carter, Lori, Melissa, Byron, Vanessa’s mom and dad, George, and myself.  We enjoyed LOTS of laughs while sharing, and making new, memories.  We again headed home and arrived back home around midnight.  Sunday we didn’t do much beyond go to church and relax.  Today we are pretty much back to normal…George worked in his workshop, we both walked, and I worked at both our home and the “blue house”.

It’s cool today, but the sun is shining, so it was a beautiful afternoon for a walk and seeing all the spring flowers popping up.  I even pulled weeds out of one of the flower beds at the “blue house”…along with some dead mums and leaves…since the flowers are popping up everywhere and need the room to bloom.  I am thrilled to be getting back to our normal routine and watching the season changing once more.  Spring is a beautiful time here in central Kentucky!

We also were told that Chase had gotten married on February 20 to the love of his life.  We have not met her yet…and know nothing about her…but we are looking forward to when we will meet her and we wish them a lifetime of happiness.  Chase has completed all his training and will graduate from the “speciaL forces” school this week and most likely be deployed before long.  I pray he will always be safe and I’m very proud of him and his courage to want to help keep the USA safe.  Congratulations to them!

Guess that’s enough and it’s time for me to fix some dinner.  Have a great week and pray for our two newly wed couples to adjust well to this new phase of life…not always easy…and that they will have a house full of beautiful children!  Love to you all.

Blessings…..
