Our first day in May started out on the muggy side, but is ending on the pleasant side after several rather strong storms this afternoon. April went by so quickly, and spring has finally sprung, so it’s now time for the KENTUCKY DERBY and all the activities that creates. Of course, we are no longer enjoying all that Derby fun stuff and that’s rather sad. Since our friend died almost two years ago, we no longer have those wonderful derby parties to attend and being 70 miles away from Louisville we don’t take in any of the other activities. Louisville, and all the derby guest, party for over two weeks, so it’s big time $$$$ for the city and lots of fun for the participants. The derby was always fun to attend, the horses were beautiful, and most of the guest were “interesting”. Oh well, those days are over but we do have some good memories of fun times in the “Ville”.
Melissa celebrated her birthday by getting a hair cut…said she hadn’t had one for a year…and I know she’s feeling beautiful again. She did take her special day off and pampered herself the best she could between the car pool activities. She’s such a special daughter and I am very proud God blessed my life with her being our first girl.
Clark and Vanessa have moved her mom in with them and that will be difficult at times, I’m sure. Alzheimers is a terrible disease! Vanessa’s dad is in the process of getting their Texas home sold, all the stuff stored/sold/given away/ or tossed. Poor guy as that’s an overwhelming job any time and he’s doing in by himself now. Please pray for all of them.
Carter and Lori had a great time in Aruba and said it’s really beautiful there. Glad they get to take these trips and enjoy all these different beaches…which they love…and just have some great time being together.
Scott and Allison are still in the “remodel” mode after having finished the upstairs. The downstairs shouldn’t take as long but will be beautiful when it’s completed. The twins have loved learning to play touch football…Scott is the coach…and will be looking forward to summer baseball before long.
Tanya and her crew are getting ready for Jerod’s graduation in just a couple of weeks. Emotions will be running high ’cause the first one to leave the nest is very hard on a parent. I hated each of mind leaving but that was what should, and must, happen for them to live their own lives. Still hard emotionally! The Crockett family will be hosting a refuge family this next week and that will be interesting as they speak no English, but the sponsors will be coming by each day to “chat” with them to make sure they are OK.
Guess that’s about all I know to write about. George is doing well, except for those cranky knees, but we will continue to pray they will be healed, or fixed, before long. Business at the “blue house” continues to keep us busy and the people we meet are so sweet and appreciative of having the house to stay in while in our area. Have a great week and enjoy this beautiful season. Keep praying for Buddy, Linda Joyce, George, and Linda Lou. Love to each of you.
Blessings….
