So proud of Lacey….

This past Friday we were blessed to see Lacey graduate from the Louisville Metro Police Academy.  The ceremony was very impressive, all 29 of the graduates had to have worked extremely hard to finish the course, and they are all keeping Louisville a safer place to live…and I might add that’s a big assignment.  Therefore, congratulations Lacey.  It was a really HOT morning, and the ceremony was outside so Lacey was about to smother with all her gear on, but she looked so official.  Last night was her first night on the job and, her area is not one of the safest areas of Louisville, but I know she’s trained well and will be doing her very best to help keep that area safe.  It was a fun time getting to visit with her, Clark, Vanessa, Dwayne (Vanessa’s dad), Sean and Teresa…along with several of Lacey’s friends…afterwards and they are all doing well.

School starts tomorrow for both the Louisville and Wilmore grand kids and each have said they are ready to get back…that’s always a good thing.  For the Crockett’s…Jerod is a college freshman, Meredith is our senior this year, Blake is a sophomore, Grayson is a freshman.  For the Gabehart’s…Kyle is a sophomore in college, Tyler is a junior, and Madi is a sophomore.  For the twins…they started first grade yesterday but only Neyland got to go…Turner is quite sick with a virus that Neyland shared and will last for 14 days.  He felt so bad that he didn’t seem to care he missed his first day of first grade when we face timed them last night.  I pray each one will have a great year, learn lots of fun stuff, and makes many new friends and memories.

Our very busy schedule with the “blue house” is about to come to an end.  We have had guest at the home almost non-stop since April…a good thing financially…and after August 14th it’ll be hit & miss until the end of the year.  We are very thankful for all our many HAPPY guest and this avenue to minister to many of them.

We have finally found a place in Florida that will rent to us for the two months we’re wanting…most won’t rent for less than three month and some are at four months.  It’s right down the street from where we were last year and it’s a 55 + community and a very nice “mobile home park”.  This will be our first experience with a double wide but the pictures looked good so we’ll see.  It’s a mile, or less, to the Manasota beach and we’re very familiar with that area so we’ll expect another fun two months in Florida.

Still hot, and very humid, in KY but we continue to have had enough rain that we haven’t had to water anything but the porch flowers all summer…and that’s a rarity!  I’m still walking most mornings, even though I sweat…I know girls are suppose to “glisten” but I can tell you I sweat, in all that humidity.  I know fall isn’t far away and walking will be a little more enjoyable then…that is if exercising is ever enjoyable!  Fall is another good time to be in KY and we’ll look forward to raking the many leaves from the two yards.  Yeah!!!  Now winter…well, that’s my most unpleasant time around here!  Snow, cold, dreary, no sunshine for days, dark before dinner, etc just does not make my heart jump for joy!  Life is truly good and I’m thankful for the changing seasons, really, and feel so blessed that we have the decent health we do so we can enjoy all of it…winter is just enjoyed from afar, though!

Guess that’s about it.  Have a great week and watch for all those school kids when driving each morning and afternoon.  Love to you all.

Blessings…..
