Well…we finally did it!

For the last three years we have been leasing our Fusion and today was the day we turned it back in.  We did not want to continue leasing a vehicle so we’ve been looking for a good USED one to buy.  We have been all over Lexington and Nicholasville trying to find the best possible deal…might I add that most days it was with a heat index of over 100 while we were walking all over those concrete lots.  Many SUV’s looked good…and I wanted something I could get in and out of easier…but had lots of miles on them, were a really “plain Jane, no frills” style but I’m OLD and want power windows and seat(s), or just were not what we were wanting.  Well, the Ford dealership where we returned the Fusion, had too many Escapes in his inventory and needed to move them out…and we gladly got one.  It was less expensive than a lot of the used ones we considered.  It’s not the perfect vehicle, lacks some perks I was hoping to get that we’ve never had in a car…such as the built in GPS system and the dual heat/air controls…,oh well, I’ll manage somehow.  This new Ford Escape should provide us with good transportation, is brand new, and only has 27 miles on it of which I put about 20 in the test drive, and it’s all paid for.  All is well at the Ezell’s!

We’re being told that this heat/humid wave is going to come to an end in just 1 1/2 more days.  It has really been a humid summer and we’ll all welcome the relief of that.  Florida can say all they want about the humidity there but they have the beaches to enjoy and cool off.  Kentucky has no beach, or relief from it, unfortunately.  I’ll repeat, as much as the humidity has been rough while I walked most days, it’ll always be better than the cold and snow of winter.

August just flew by and here it is one day short of September.  How can that be?  All our kids, and grand kids, are so busy doing life and will be OLD like us before we know it.  The older I get the more precious life continues to be.

Guess that’s it for now.  We have a big birthday coming up this coming Sunday…Meredith is turning 18 and she’s such a talented, pretty, and God-fearing lady and a true joy to be around.

Have a good rest-of-the-week and it won’t be long until leaf racking time…YEAH!!!  Love to you all.

Blessings….
