This week has really gone by fast. Monday was my catch-up day after our time in the Smokies, Tuesday we finished up the painting on the outside of the house…everyone shout HURRAY…except for the five windows and George will get those done before long. Wednesday was just another day that included grocery shopping…YUCK…and today was my Bible study class. Each day seems to be full of things to do, so we never have to look for things to keep ourselves busy. Tomorrow I will be going on a field trip with Grayson…a walking tour of downtown Wilmore. Jerod has a doctor’s appointment and I’m the stand in chaperon for Tanya. The walk will be a miles or more by the time we get back to the school The kids think this is great stuff since they get to go into some of the businesses and will be given a treat…doesn’t take a lot to please a first grader.
Lacey told me yesterday that she’s going to have to have shoulder surgery in the very near future. She hurt her shoulder some time back…not sure just how she did it…and nothing has helped, so that’s what’s on her plate along with surviving her last semester of high school. Vanessa left today to go on a cruise with her mother and sister and will be gone for two weeks. That should be a fun experience! I love to cruise.
We are having great weather and it’s so nice. I love the fall! We could sure use some rain, however, as it’s been weeks since we’ve had a drop. The fall foliage won’t be as pretty this year since it is so dry and that’s a real shame. The only thing I don’t like about fall is that winter follows close behind! Oh well, we’ll be going to Florida for January and February so I think I’ll survive.
My Beth Moore study, The Patriarch, is going well…she is such a gifted teacher. This study requires a lot of homework…more than the other’s I’ve taken…but so far I’ve been able to keep on track.
Sunday we will be going to Louisville to help Melissa with getting the kids to all their scheduled places while she’s in school and Byron is at work. I plan to use my free time seeing friends, getting a mammogram…another YUCK…and having my yearly check-up…a third YUCK! I should of had this all done last March so I’m a little behind and this just seemed like a good time to get caught up. We’ll come back home on Wednesday..another week proving to be a busy one.Â
Our friends, Emily and Adam, will be having their third baby in the morning…another boy…and I know he will be as beautiful as the others were. We can’t wait to see him and I know Kylie and Jackson will be big helpers…more ways than you can imagine! We’re praying for you Emily!
Saturday, October 4th, Wilmore will be having their annual Art’s and Craft fair…we’re competing with St. James Art Fair in Louisville. We’ll be doing the smaller one day version vs. Louisville’s three day version that goes on forever! It’s a fun activity…held downtown on main street, will be well attended by the community and college students, and some real “treasures” to be had!
I really am enjoying my morning devotionals and it certainly helps my day get off to a good start. I read from two different daily devotional books, a reader from the seminary, and my Bible…along with my class work.  I walk for an hour once my study is over…my least favorite thing I do each day.  No wonder my days go by so fast…they don’t start until noon!
Danna, we’re praying for your dad and we’re sad to learn of this new diagnosis…he’s had a difficult last few years. May you, and your family, find comfort in knowing that we’re praying for each of you each day. My mother continues to be in pain from her back and the epidurals don’t really seem to be doing much to relieve her from this pain. We’re praying for you too, Mom! Love you!
Have a good weekend and enjoy the fall season.
Blessings………
